Dr. David Grout - Senior Pastor
David was born in McAllen, Texas along the Mexican border. He grew up in a Methodist parsonage in the Rio Grande Conference and is fluent in the Spanish language. David is a graduate of Asbury College and Asbury Theological Seminary and has served as pastor in churches in Texas and Kentucky. David was appointed senior pastor to Christ United Methodist in June 2006. He is married to Pam and has one son, Michael.
Rev. Michael Romans - Associate Pastor
Michael is the Associate Pastor and Minister of Youth. He is a newly commmissioned Probationary Elder and is also serving as the Director of the Wesley Foundation at Western Kentucky University. Michael is a 2005 graduate of Western Kentucky University with a degree in Religious Studies and a 2015 graduate of Asbury Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity degree. He is married to Emily and has two fantastic kids, Jonas and Willow.
Melissa Bull - Minister of Contemporary Worship & Discipleship
Melissa relocated to Bowling Green from north of Boston, Massachusetts in January 2017, where she served as the Director of Worship Ministries at North Shore Community Baptist Church for 9 years and was a professional free-lance violinist. She studied at New England Conservatory, Gordon College, (BM in Music Performance and a BA in Spanish with departmental honors), and Boston Conservatory (MM in Violin Performance). She is married to the gentle, gracious, and personable Román Di Gaetano, whom she met in his native Argentina in 2007, and they have two fiercely independent, inquisitive, and cherished daughters, Luciana and Liliana. She is passionate about facilitating ways for people to behold and worship God, about urging people to rediscover the wonders of the gospel of Jesus Christ, and about creating opportunities for people both inside and outside the church to grow closer to God.
Kelli Truelove - Assistant Pastor of Youth
Kelli Truelove is a native of Bowling Green, KY. She graduated from WKU with her BA in Psychology and from Lindsey Wilson College with her M. Ed. in Counseling and Human Development. Kelli has worked in youth ministry for the past 7 years and is passionate about encouraging and uplifting teenagers. Kelli enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband and two sons.
Patty Wintuska - Director of Children's Ministry
Patty joined our staff in 2003, after several years of volunteering with our Children’s Ministry. She feels blessed to have the opportunity to work with children from infancy through fifth grade. She appreciates being a part of a church that is family-oriented and is grateful to have the opportunity to teach (and learn from!) such wonderful children. It is Patty’s dream to guide the children to a place where they are equipped to handle whatever the world may throw at them, through their salvation & relationship with our Lord.
Bonnie Hanes - Administrative Assistant and Treasurer
I have been a member of Christ Church since 1964. I served as secretary/treasurer from 1987 – 1992. After retiring as an accountant for the Commonwealth of KY, I returned as treasurer and then accepted the position of Administrative Assistant in 2014. Christ Church has been a huge part of my life and I enjoy being a part of various activities. I also enjoy spending time at the lake with my husband, Randy. We have 2 grown daughters and 4 grandchildren.
April Taylor - Nursery Director
April became Nursery Director in 2007 after enjoying meeting and becoming a member of the church family at CUMC. She is a dedicated child nurturer which also shows through her Parents Day Out teaching position at CUMC. April is from Bowling Green and enjoys swimming, cooking and spending time with her husband, Jeff and two daughters Mea and Madisyn.
Angie Gordon - Director of The Learning Tree / Parent's Day Out (PDO) and Minister of Visitation
Angie became The Learning Tree/Parents Day Out Director in 2009 after moving from Murray, KY to Bowling Green. She enjoys building the bond between parents and church relations and also seeing each child thrive and grow through our program. She is active not only in the PDO program, but also as a CUMC member and as a nursery staff. Angie also visits many of our homebound. Angie enjoys traveling, and spending time with her husband, Scott and two sons, Aaron and Mason.
